Park City High School – Park City, UT

Landon Albright was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Thursday, driving in five on two hits to lead the Miners past Highland 29-19 on Thursday. Albright drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the third, and a in the fifth.

Park City grabbed an early lead as the Miners scored on a double by Ari Clevenger and a groundout by Tiana Clevenger in the first inning.

The Miners notched ten runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Albright, Taylor Fodera, and Vanessa Heredia, by Evelyn Quevedo, an error on a ball put in play by Albright, and a double by Salina Ochoa.

Highland scored nine runs in the fourth inning. The Ram’s big inning was driven by walks by Johnson Peyton and Alexis Megeurditchian, singles by Lauren Brown and Ofeina Clark, an error on a ball put in play by Peyton and Shannon Lambson, and a double by Megeurditchian.

Junior Amanda Riely toed the rubber for the Miners. She lasted four and a third innings, allowing nine hits and ten runs while striking out three.

Peyton was on the mound for Highland. She went four and a third innings, allowing 29 runs on 13 hits and striking out one.

Park City racked up 13 hits. Annie Sheinberg, Heredia, and Albright each managed multiple hits for the Miners as Sheinberg Park City with four hits in six at bats. The Miners stole 21 bases during the game as seven players stole more than one. Quevedo led the way with five.

Highland tallied 14 hits on the day. Clark, Jorielle Dusenberry, Sarah Berg, Brown, and Megeurditchian all collected multiple hits for the Rams. Clark went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead Highland in hits. The Rams tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Lambson led the way with three.
