The Miners opened the varsity season Thursday night in St. George against the Highland Rams. Sophomore Ryan Jeffrey toed the rubber for Park City Miners Varsity. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out ten. Wyatt Hudgens threw two-thirds of an inning out of the bullpen.

S Thomas led things off on the rubber for Highland. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out 13 and walking one.

Junior Max Mobley led Park City Miners Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

Thomas went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Highland in hits. Highland didn’t commit a single error in the field. Moore had the most chances in the field with 14.

On Friday at Pine View High School, the Miners will play Grantsville at 3:30 and the host Panthers at 8:30.
