Park City (8-4) defeated Ben Lomond 14-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Sophomore Zack Blaszak induced a groundout from Tristian to finish off the game.
The Miners secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the second inning. Blaszak, Max Mobley, Ben Agnew, Payton Gross, Colton Thompson, and Evan Pointer all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Agnew doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
The Miners racked up ten hits in the game. Ryan Jeffrey, Agnew, Pointer, and Gross each had multiple hits.
Park City scored nine runs in the second inning. The Miners big bats in the inning were led by singles by Agnew and Gross, groundouts by Pointer and Connor Heiden, a walk by Mobley, an error on a ball put in play by Blaszak, and a double by Thompson.
One bright spot for Ben Lomond was a single by Connor in the first inning.
Agnew (1-1) pitched the Miners to victory as he surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out six and walking zero. Blaszak threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Connor took the loss for Ben Lomond. He allowed eight hits and 12 runs over two innings.
