Park City Miners defeated Pine View 7-6 on Thursday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at six with the Miners batting in the bottom of the seventh when sohpmore Ben Agnew singled off of T Staheli, driving in one run.
Despite falling down by five runs in the fourth inning, Pine View tried to fight back. The Panthers scored five runs in the failed comeback on a single by Leavitt in the fifth, a stolen base in the fifth, a error in the fifth, and a single by Leavitt in the sixth.
Park City took an early lead in the second inning. With one out in the second inning Ben Agnew drove in one run when he singled.
In the top of the sixth inning, Pine View tied things up at six. Leavitt drove in one when he singled in the sixth inning.
The Miners scored four runs in the fourth inning on a triple by senior Zach Luna, a single by senior Ryan Brady, and a double by junior Payton Gross.
Pine View scored four runs in the fifth inning. Pine View’s big inning was driven by a single by Leavitt, a stolen base , and a error.
Brady earned the win for Park City tossing six and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs, eight hits, and striking out six. Leavitt took the loss for Pine View. He threw three innings, surrendering two runs, seven hits, striking out four, and walking zero.
The Miners had 12 hits in the game. Luna, Agnew, Brady, junior Colton Thompson, and Gross each collected multiple hits and Agnew led Park City Miners Varsity with three runs batted in. He went 2-for-3 on the day.
Pine View collected 12 hits. Leavitt, Erickson, D Staheli, and T Staheli each collected multiple hits for Pine View.
Park City will face Dixie in the winners bracket final at 1:30pm on Friday, May 19 at Brent Bron Ballpark.
