Park City and Hillcrest passed the lead back-and-forth on Thursday, but eventually the Huskies prevailed 23-11. The game was tied at five with Hillcrest batting in the top of the second when there was an error, scoring one run.
The Miners collected four hits and Hillcrest had nine in the high-scoring affair
The Huskies took an early lead in the first inning on an error that scored one run.
Hillcrest took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning when there was an error, scoring two runs and Guidash hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.
Park City scored five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a triple by sophomore Amanda Riely, a walk by senior Ashley Farquharson, a walk by junior Vanessa Heredia, and a error.
Hillcrest scored six runs in the fifth inning and the Huskies big inning was driven by a double by Aragundi, a single by Sundquist, and a single by Richards.
Small earned the win for Hillcrest. She went six innings, surrendering 11 runs, four hits, and striking out six. Farquharson took the loss for Park City tossing three innings, surrendering 11 runs, two hits, and striking out four.
Senior Denise Zarate started the game for the Miners. She tossed three innings, giving up 12 runs, seven hits, and striking out two.
Kendyl Boozier-Taylor led Park City with two hits in three at bats.
Nielson, Aragundi, and Richards each collected multiple hits for Hillcrest. Nielson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Hillcrest in hits.
The Miners finish the season with an overall record of 5-18.
