Junior Salina Ochoa gave Ben Lomond fits, as she bagged four hits in the Miners 16-5 victory on Monday. Ochoa doubled in the first, tripled in the second, singled in the second, and singled in the third.
An early lead helped propel Park City to victory. The Miners scored on an error, a single by senior Ashley Farquharson, a single by sophomore Ari Clevenger, and a single by junior Vanessa Heredia in the first inning.
Ben Lomond captured the lead in the top half of the first inning. Rios grounded out, scoring one run.
The Miners took the lead for good with four runs in the bottom of the first inning; an error, scoring one run, Farquharson singled off of Ramos, driving in one run, Clevenger singled off of Ramos, driving in one run, and Heredia singled off of Ramos, driving in one run.
Park City scored eight runs in the second inning, driven by a triple by Ochoa, a groundout by Farquharson, a error, a single by Kendyl Boozier-Taylor, a double by Tiana Clevenger, and a single by Ochoa.
The Scots scored three runs in the third inning, thanks to a single and a error.
Park City collected 15 hits, with Ochoa, Clevenger, sophomore Annie Sheinberg, and Boozier-Taylor each collected multiple hits while Ochoa and Clevenger each drove in three runs to lead the Miners.
Next up, Park City will host Judge Memorial Catholic at 3:30pm on Tuesday, May 9th.
