Senior Ryan Brady didn’t allow a single run as the Miners defeated Union 6-0 on Thursday. Brady allowed just two hits and struck out Matt Williams to end the game.
An early lead helped propel Park City victory. The Miners captured the lead in the first inning when Brady’s sac fly scored one run/ Park City then scored on a single by Brady in the second inning. The Miners scored three runs in the third inning driven by a home run by junior Payton Gross and a single by senior Zach Luna.
A single by Gage Roberts in the second inning was a positive for Union.
Brady (7-1) earned the win throwing seven innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out 12, and walking zero. Easton Roherer took the loss for Union. He tossed one inning, giving up one run, one hit, and striking out one.
Luna and Brady each drove in two runs to lead Park City and the Miners didn’t commit a single error in the field. Gross had the most chances in the field with 12.
As the number one seed from Region 10, the Miners will host the first round of the 3A state playoffs on Saturday, May 13th.
