Region 10 Baseball – Tooele High School, Tooele UT

Park City defeated Tooele 10-1 thanks to a strong start. The Miners scored on a double by senior Josh Lansky in the first inning, a single by junior Colton Thompson in the first inning, and a single by senior Zach Luna in the second inning.

Park City scored five runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a stolen base, a single by Lansky, and a walk by sophomore Ben Agnew.

Junior Sam Strader (6-0) earned the win for Park City, throwing six innings, allowing one run, five hits, striking out six, and walking one. Steel took the loss for Tooele; he went three and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs, ten hits, and striking out two.

Park City had 13 hits in the game. Luna, Lansky, Agnew, and junior Joey Lukrich each collected multiple hits while Lansky and Luna each drove in three runs to lead the Miners.

Paystrap led Tooele with one run batted in. He went 1-for-4 on the day.

Park City (18-3, 10-1) has secured the number one seed in Region 10 for the state playoffs with one game to go to finish the region scheduled. The Miners will host Union on Thursday, May 4th.
